In tribute to Dominique Bernard, the French teacher murdered by a fanatic, and to the Swedish victims of the attack in Brussels, the European School Karlsruhe is raising the Belgian, French and Swedish flags.

Humanism and rationalism are fences against fanaticism and obscurantism. As a worthy heir to Voltaire, Dominique Bernard opposed the madness of men to protect the Youth and teachers. His memory will never fade in the minds of his colleagues in France and Europe. He will shine in every star of our school’s European flag.
