4. Application procedure and documents

Conditions

Prior to applying to the European School please make sure you have read and understood the conditions of entry.

The application form

All applicants to the European School must fill out the Application form completely. This form is available as a PDF and can be submitted online on the submission page of this section, or by post.

Supporting Documents

The following supporting documents may be required when you submit your form. For details of which documents to submit, please refer to the application form:

• Class records or reports from any previous schools
• Birth certificate
• Copy of the vaccination record
• In the case of employees of EU Institutions, a certificate of confirmation of appointment

Application Deadline

Applications for Admission are accepted throughout the year (except for the last two classes : year 6 and 7 Secondary).

Children who are admitted to the school during the course of their schooling are placed in a class appropriate to the level which they have attained in their home country. They are normally placed in the language section which corresponds to their dominant language. They may be required to sit an entrance examination to determine their level. The European School Karlsruhe reserves the right to determine the appropriate grade level placement for each applicant.
