On Friday, the opening ceremony of the exhibition „Otto von Habsburg – His life and legacy“ took place in the secondary school. The exhibition gives an insight into the extraordinary life of Otto von Habsburg. After the welcoming speech by our headmaster Mr Munkácsy and a short presentation by Hannah Majoros (S7 pupil), our former Director Mr Hoyem and the director of the Liszt Institute, Dr Szabó, gave speeches. The event was musically accompanied by the wind class of the secondary school.
Otto von Habsburg (1912-2011) was the eldest son of the last emperor of Austria-Hungary, Charles I, and one of the most important European politicians and intellectuals of the 20th century. Throughout his life, he campaigned for European unification and the integration of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe after the fall of the Iron Curtain.
