The European School of Karlsruhe proudly participated in the 20th edition of the European Schools Science Symposium, hosted at the European School Brussels 1 (UCCLE). Representing the ESK were two Junior groups and two Senior groups, all presenting their innovative and thought-provoking projects with great dedication and skill:
- Janka Hugelmann and Mathilda von Fürstenberg (both from S5D, coached by Nane Kuznik) showcased their project titled “Putzmittel – Hilfreich oder doch schädlich?” (Cleaning agents – helpful or harmful?).
- Amelia Wood and Shradda Vijaya Kumara (both from S5E, coached by Philippe Beaufils) delved into the intriguing topic of “Plastic-eating bacteria: Investigating bacteria that can break down plastic and assessing their potential for large-scale waste management.”
- Jack Laban and Tristan Weller (both from S1E, coached by Michela Glass Dreusch) presented a remarkable project titled “Containment of oil spillage on surface water.”
- Luna Bosir Scek Mohamed and Joanna Sweeting (both from S1E, also coached by Michela Glass Dreusch) captivated audiences with their exploration of the “Reaction between Coca-Cola and Mentos.”
Although none of the groups advanced to the finals, each team demonstrated extraordinary commitment, creativity, and teamwork, leaving a lasting impression with their exceptional contributions. Congratulations to all participants on their incredible achievements!
